Katie's F-117 Nighthawk
Katie really liked making her first model, so she and Alyssa asked me again if they could build another model. I, being the model building dad that I am, was more than happy to let them each build another model. This time, Katie picked out a F-117 Nighthawk. This time the model was actually in 1/72, and not some smaller scale where the details start to get lost. In fact, it almost looked like they took their normal F-117 and made it a snap fit model.
The model was petty simple, and I only had to give her a little help getting things lined up. She managed to get most of it together herself, and she was very proud of that. And this model came with a stand, unlike most other airplanes. That means she can take it off the stand and fly it around like a real plane. But most of time she keeps it on her shelf with all her other airplanes that she has.
The model came with a small selection of normal stickers for the markings, which was nice. Katie is really particular with getting her stickers lined up just right, so she did a really good job with them. Of course, the model also came with a lot extra stickers to spruce it up for the younger modelers. She had a lot of fun marking it up just right.
Katie had a great time working on it, and is proud of her collection of planes.
Katie's Thoughts
Here's what Katie had to say about her model:
I built this model by myself, and it's really cool. I put the stickers on it like that because I thought it would be cool. This model is really cool to me.
I have a feeling Katie will be building many models in the future.
