Woah, I'm back!
10 years ago, I shut down Erick's Models. I was busy with work, family, volunteering for my kids' soccer team, and everything else in between. I was slowing down the model output, and updating my website was getting to be a chore. I needed a break from it. Well, soccer is done, one of my kids is now a college graduate, another is starting her third year, and my youngest is in middle school. I've still been modeling and gotten several done, including getting into 3D modeling. However, I've decided I wanted to get back into the website, so I fired it up.
Last time I had my website running on a friend's server, but I've had my own for several years now. I figure I'd do it all in house this time to get some more experience with running a web server as well as the website. I'm still in the process of getting things running again, and I need to review ALL the pages to get them spruced up, old stuff cleared out, and other general maintenance. It's going to take a bit. Once I get that done, I'll add new content. But for now, you can reminisce about the good ol' days.
Oh, and it's now www.ericksmodels.net instead of .com. Some joker out there probably realized that my old site was generating a decent amount of traffic. Not a ton, but probably worth monetizing. I would have had to pay over $1000 to get the old TLD back. Well, screw that! I'll just be a .net now. So much cooler than a .com anyway. Besides, now I can say, "No, it's a dot net."
Welcome
Welcome to Erick's Models, my place to show off my models and give back to the modeling community that helped improve my skills. Browse around and see what I have to offer. I try to update the site whenever I get more to put on here. Of course, this is just a hobby, so work and life can prevent me from doing a lot here. I usually get at least a few updates a year though, often more. And finally, if you have any questions or comments feel free to .

I started a blog! I've been working on model stuff, and I don't have the time to constantly update my website, so I opened a blog to make small updates faster. With any luck, I'll keep working on my models enough to make the blog intersting.

I finished a model from my childhood, the Robotech Defenders Condar. I made a few changes, that I think turned out pretty well. I might have been working on this for a while, but I finally got it done.

I made a paper model of the Taiidan Interceptor from Homeworld. I even made a nice wood stand for it too, since it is a spaceship and can't really sit on the ground.
I also got some work done on the Robotech Condar. Yes, I know it's from Dougram, but that's ok. I'm just considering it to be some mecha that need a good paint job. It's geting clost to done too.

I finished my Mintoaur V model, and it is now available for download. I had actually completed most of the work back in October, but I hadn't finished it until just recently. It would have been nice to release it when LADEE had launched, but oh well.
I've gotten some work done on my C-141 as well. The engine pylons were too short in the back making the engines point down, so I fixed that. There are some more pics of my Condar. It's getting close!

Ok, so during the winter break, I managed to get a couple models done! Yay! I've had these 'on the bench' for a couple years now. I've been meaning to get these done for a while now, because they are Christmas gifts from my daughters.
The first one was an F-22, which I needed because my old one is starting to fall apart. I also use a new display technique which turned out pretty well.
I was also able to get another one done at the same time. I got the Seagull as a gift at the same time I got the F-22, so I figured I should finish them together. This one was more challenging, but I was able to pull it off.

I was able to finish my Taurus 2110 model with a little help from some better pictures and a little time with PaintShop Pro. This rounds out the Taurus model line, as far as I can tell.

I got to see the Space Shuttle on it's last trip through Edwards AFB. It was nothing short of amazing. Take a look at some of the pictures I took while it came through.
